Third Cycle of European Studies

The Center of Excellence for European Studies has organized with the Artillery Academy of Segovia the third cycle of European Studies. This course is aimed at the “Caballeros Alfereces Cadetes” of 4th Training Course of the Artillery to join the Official Range of the Army.

It took place from January to April of 2013 and consisted of six sessions that addressed advanced issues in law, economics or international relations, with the following program:

  • The process of European integration from a historical perspective (January 11, 2013). Marie-José Garot, IE Law School Professor, Holder of the Jean Monnet Chair.
  • Nationalism in Europe (January 18, 2013). Maria Victoria Morera Villuendas, Director General of bilateral relations with EU countries.
  • Defence Policy and Security Policy (February 8, 2013). Admiral D. Jose Maria Treviño Ruiz.
  • The new European Banking regulatory framework. Towards the solution of the crisis in Spain (February 22, 2013). Pablo Diaz de Rabago, Associate Professor at the IE Business School.
  • The overall EU approach to crisis management (March 8, 2013). Senior Strategic Planner Fernando Moreno. European External Action Service (EEAS)
  • NATO and its new strategic concept (April 12, 2013). Leopoldo Calvo-Sotelo Ibanez-Martin. Director of the Master in International Relations at IE Business School
