The Center for European Studies-IE and the Irish Embassy in Madrid hosted a high level forum on Friday, October 14th, in which Ruairi Quinn, Irish Minister for Education and Skills delivered a keynote address on “Challenges Facing Higher Education in Europe: Innovative Responses “. The event also counted with the kind participation of Cesar Alierta, President of Telefónica and Francisco Michavila, Director of the UNESCO Chair of University Management and Policy. Minister Quinn ‘s address reflected on the need for innovative responses required in times of crisis to improve the quality and relevance of higher education in Europe. The Minister particularly stressed the need to develop entrepreneurial, creative and innovative skills in all disciplines.
